In other news, can I say how very cool it is to have a bartender seriously challenge my ID?

Like, not as a joke. She seriously said this must be your older brother's, can you show me some other form of identification. How f*cking cool is that?! :)

It's one thing for people to say you look young, but you never know if they're just being nice... but having a bartender really give you a hard time, now that's a freakin' compliment!

(And let me say that if the only thing you've had to eat all day is a single apple, a 22 oz hard cider will make you tipsy! But AS220 was cool, I'll definitely be back :)

In still other news, mental note: People who start off saying they don't like drama... well, more often than not, they seem to be at the center of it. Blech.

Well, the Call for Nominations for the 2008 ADF elections went out last week and I've just sent the first update on the nominations to ADF-Announce...

10 nominations for Members' Advocate, 14 for Non-Officer Director, 2 for South East Regional Druid, 2 for Central Regional Druid, and 4 for the 2009 Annual Meeting site - so far.

In other news, I also spent several hours the other night (between 3 and 6am when the rest of my family was asleep, oy) working on a monthly blessing rite template for my grove.

I wanted it to be similar enough to our usual liturgy that it would be familiar, but also different enough that it would convey "we're doing something different" and particularly "we're [probably] doing some kind of magical/personal working". So far I'm happy at the rough shape that's coming together for it.

04:00 pm: Updated grove report forms to auto-fill more info
I updated the grove report and protogrove report pages to auto-fill more info for the reporting leader, including grove address, phone number, etc.

Basically I ended up re-engineering the forms as I suspected I might have to do when I made my earlier post on this topic. Consequently the page load time for the grove reports went from an almost intolerable 7 seconds down to less than 2 which is very nice :)

Now to file my damned PG report which is what started all this ;)

Then, nap time before my vegan group meeting...

02:01 am: Day 4 of fast
Obviously I went beyond my original 3 day goal.

I'm taking a one-day trip to NYC on Saturday so I can't still be fasting then.

And at this point I might need two days to ramp back up to normal eating, so I guess the longest I can go for fasting is Wednesday.

04:17 pm: Custom Friends Groups
LJ may be behind Myspace in some areas, but Custom Friends Groups kick ass!

(And don't even get me started on FaceBook - it still seems like if you're not going to school it's useless - it restricted my ability to search for people based on my schools/organizations, wtf?!)

Anyway, I now have several custom friends groups: ADF, Club Friends, Close, Groups, and Other.

10:18 pm: Auto-fill grove reports
I've updated the Protogrove Report and Grove Report pages to auto-fill the officer info including expiration dates (a perennial issue).

However the Grove Report page takes about three times as long to load (about 5 or 6 seconds) because groves have 3 officers to auto-fill and PGs only have one (the grove organizer).

I wonder if the Grove Report takes too long to load.

If so, I can re-engineer it, but it would be a mild pain in the ass to do so. Not a major one, but mildly so. It would probably go down to about 2 seconds load time just like the Renewal page which I had to re-engineer because there were so many fields to auto-fill.

So, does the Grove Report page take too long to load? (honestly)
